Trails is an umbrella operation intended to unify all sorts of projects. I am hesistant to call it a "label" because I want to be careful not to imply that trails will be involved soley in the production of audio recordings. Trails is committed to overcoming two seemingly conflicting ideas. First, I am interested in producing and distributing projects with handmade elements and the indellible fingerprint of human contact. At the same time, it's important that all of trails' cultural output is widely available. In order to serve both of these needs, once the initial "pressing" of any release is sold out, it will be available through this website in a downloadable format. The internet version will likely be a stripped-down version of the original but it will include all of the core writing, music, imagery. As trails is still a child, I'll write more about this as I approach real implementation.

sleepytime/wakeytime, vol 1: kevin driscoll.

The first installment in a series, this package was released on 29 March 2003. An origami box contains a cassette, a 32-page booklet, and two lapel pins. On the tape, side A is music for falling asleep to and side B is music to wake up with. All the music was recorded during the autumn of 2002. The booklet contains lyrics, information about the cassette, and the story of how this tape put me in the hospital. (Thanks to the ever-inspirational fujichia for the pins and Sarah Scales for the origami lesson.)
